I and my husband have blue eyes. I have 4 grandsons with blue eyes. I would love to know who the common ancestor is that brought blue eyes to the world

Blue eyes offer advantages. That's why I could see a poisoness snake in the dark and saved my husband's life.

My eyes have always been considered to be blue. Once we were at the eye doctors and the shade of blue was being discussed. I asked the doctor what color would she consider my eyes to be and she said blue. But then when she looked at them with the machine she was surprised to see they were actually green. Go figure!

Blue eyes have always existed. It is part of the genetic variation within the human population that has been there ever since humans were created.

Since it takes 2 blue eyed parents to have a blue eyed child, there couldn't have been just one person with blue eyes 10, 000 years ago that led to more blue eyes. Who did that one person mate with if everyone else in the world had brown eyes. The mutation could not have been passed on. Makes me doubt this whole video since its based on a claim that makes no sense.

Haven't watched the video yet, but by world population percentage its more rare to have green eyes than to have blue ones.

If brown is dominant over blue and blue is disappearing. Try this: Follow the line back in time until Start. All humans had blue eyes. Stop and think again... what has happened. Remember that blue is recessive meaning you only get it when both parents have it. If it was a mutation (it wasn't) than somewhere, sometime a man and a woman with the same mutation (chance?) met each other and had kids. Chance is practically zero, so go back to Start!

So to preserve blue eyes we need to put up a supporting breeding program..
As blond hair is in the same decline lets hit 2 target at the same time.
And make a nice breeding program for blond haired blue eyed people.. 😊
Why hasnt annyone ever thought about that?

My eyes are blue/green, which change with the weather, quite often, being more green? Plus, my hair is hard to pin down, as to whether it is blonde, light golden brown, or, reddish blonde? Plus, I do not color my hair.

My sister has blue eyes and I have Green hazel, however, my dna profile says I have blue. Do people who have the blue eyed dna also descend from this individual?

I thought left handedness was a recessive gene, but I know two left handed (both left handed) couples who had right handed children.
