Modeling Buildings in Blender- Lazy Tutorials

So! In the new 2.8 update, the defaults are such that if you extrude faces you might get a weird glitch where some faces are transparent (you'll know it when you see it)- it's a super easy fix, though! Open material properties, go to "Settings" and check "Backface Culling"- that'll fix it right up!

Also! To find "CORRECT UVS"- since folks have been having some trouble- you have to make an edge loop first, and an adaptive menu appears in the lower left of the viewport giving you more options. You might have to click on an arrow to expand it.

Honestly I should have done this one a while ago. I've used it literally a hundred times. The best part is, once you have a building, you can use it over and over in different projects.

Used a photo of my childhood home and rendered my dad walking out just like when I was a kid. Thanks, Ian.

Instructions too slow, I ended up freestyling and made the whole New York Skyline

Instructions unclear, taught the moths how to love but I taught them too well. Now they've gone full yandere and are trying to ram their bodies through the building's windows to get to the lamp. It's pure chaos.

We are hitting blender speed levels that shouldn't be possible !

"What if I took all the parts of the tutorial that most people could reasonably be expected to figure out on their own, and just cut them out entirely"

I love these. Shows that Blender isn’t scary and that it can be easy, fun and effective with a bit of work. Keep ‘em coming!

and here i am . manually texture painting the entire building . from scratch. i guess high effort is not required some times.

i like how your tutorials are the mid-range.
too quick for beginners, not detailed enough for pros, just the right amount for the ones in the middle who get the terms but can't decide on what's the most effective thing to do a thing.

I ran into a problem when the texture kept on dragging with the vertices even when I had 'Correct UVs' active.
SOLUTION: In the upper right above the Viewport selection(the different balls), open the 'Options' selection and check the box on 'Transform: Correct face Attributes'.

Anyway, awesome videos, I love these! Me and my trainer in Blender have been changing between awe struck and laughing our butts of realizing how overly complicated we have been doing things :D

I've been doing cg for 15 years now and I hate the fact i don't work as smartly as you do. You sir are a time saving, lateral thinking genius

I always used to think the more I model everything in detail, the better the result would be. Well, you just blew those thoughts away. Anything not supposed to be on focus can be fast-modeled with that way, saving A LOT of time which can be used to perfect points of interest.
Thanks man✌️

The only youtube series that is straight to the point and doesn’t add a bunch of filler bullshit for view time
