Proper Chain Tension for an ICS Powercutter

Показать описание
Proper chain tension is crucial for optimal cutting performance with your concrete cutting saw. For best results, the chain should be loose enough to pull freely around the guide bar by hand but not so tight that it binds or saps power from the saw. Regularly check the tension, especially since diamond chains stretch more than wood chains due to the abrasive materials they cut. If the drive links hang about 1/2 to 3/4 inch (12-18 mm) below the bar, it’s time to adjust.
To tension the chain, first, loosen the side cover nuts. While holding the nose of the bar up, turn the tensioning screw until the drive links just begin to enter the bar groove, then securely tighten the side cover nuts. Proper tensioning helps prevent chain and bar damage, and using 20 psi (1.5 bar) water pressure can reduce chain stretch and downtime.
Always handle the chain carefully when checking or adjusting tension. Avoid touching sharp edges, grab only the diamond segments, and always pull the chain away from the WallWalker®. Finally, make sure the engine is off before making any adjustments, and oil the chain after each use to prevent rust while avoiding over-tensioning in this condition.
