When measuring the slack after the adjustment with the chainmonkey (without plastic dome) it is much too loose. According to me the table is not correct. E.g. position 1 results in a slack of about 35 mm. So please calibrate the device for yourself. From then onwards it is perfect.

So the packaging says to remove the black rubber cover over the domed nut to adjust the chain, I'm guessing with it on it's out by about 3 to 4mm.

Folks get way too excited about chain tension.

Better loose than tight. Don't make it so loose it's flapping around. The crazy specs in your owners manual are just there because they have to write down something better than "don't be stupid, OK?"
