What a sobering look at some of the most brutal military campaigns in Roman history. While it's understandable campaigns like those against Carthage and Britain were aiming to expand and defend the empire, the level of violence and atrocities is hard to comprehend. This video did a great job providing historical context around the strategic and political motives, while not shying away from depicting the grim human toll of war. It highlights how even the most powerful civilizations are not infallible and that military might alone does not guarantee long-term control and stability. A thought-provoking discussion on the complexities and costs of imperial expansion.

I actually feel sad for the Celts. They were freedom fighters who died trying to defend their way of life from the Roman war machine. They don't deserve to be forgotten. Fun fact: two of Shakespeare's plays revolve around Celtic kings, Macbeth with whom died the Celtic way of life in Scotland and Cymbeline based on Cunobelinus mentioned here (whom the Immortal Bard gives the lines, "Britain is a world unto itself, and we will nothing pay for wearing our own noses").

You confuse unintentionally or, but you know it was the Irish. The celts came after. Eire ruled the seas pre flood and post flood.

The documentary is very interesting with one exception. The Latin monologues with British accents are downright cringeworthy. It sounds nearly as badly(I imagine)as if someone had dressed up Churchill and had had him deliver similar lines back in tge day.
