Impressive performance Ryan with those new shoes, I’ve only done one trail race (Trafford Trails 5 Miler) which I tackled in the trusty Mizuno Wave Ultimas, I’ve recently considered trying Hoka and I still might for trail in 2025😊

Great pace over the country there👊. The spikes must have helped with a mental boost too. I have the Dragonfly track spikes and intend to get some vets track racing done next year. But it will take a while for my old legs to get used to them. Enjoy your next XC outing✊

I'm not a Nike supporter so I'll struggle without them but i couldn't cope with spending £80 on a pair of spikes... £40-£50 max 😂😂(spent all my money on bikes)

You did have a great run, I was never keeping up with you on that one. The course was pretty fast in general, I'd like to see how the shoes do on a much more technical course. Maybe we'll find out next weekend, I've no idea what the course will be like?

Great running out there! Them spikes definitely look fast, even when theyre sat still 😂 Do you have any recommendations for spikes for a XC newbie. I'm looking at possibly giving it a go next season (I missed the boat for this years registrations through the club) but dont really know what im looking for. I don't necessarily want to break the bank first time out, but also don't just want to buy cheap and ending up with rubbish. Obviously, I'm asking way in advance, so should have plenty of time to look out for deals as the seasons change. I usually look for something with some width in the forefoot for stability (which probably rules out nike I'm guessing). Any advice would be really appreciated 🙂

It's probably worth dropping the organisers of the league an email about whether you can use a camera. In the Nationals, it is not allowed, but in the Bham League rules, there is nothing stated about it. We were discussing this on the day at our club, and general consensus was that they are actually allowed, but lots assume not getting confused with the National xc race.
