Record profits, no accountability, and complete incompetence. All of their executives should be fired immediately and with no severance packages. Definitely no bonuses this year. Beryl was a minor event compared to the 4 major storms predicted for this season.

New insult unlocked: "You're about as reliable as a Texan power grid in summertime."

Power distribution should be a public utility, not a for-profit business. No incentive to maintain rights-of-way and minimize disruption.

So had the hurricane been like a cat 4 or greater, Texas would be in a full on humanitarian crisis right now.

One million customers equals 4+ million people. The nursing home is the customer not the 50 residents in it. FCP

People should be demanding Abbot to step down

Local here. They own the poles. Houston use to divide the power poles for each region of the city with different companies. Center Point operates nearly all of Houston now and chooses to not hire enough employees or have stations in each region of the city which results in poor management and week long waits. They also refuse to let their linemen work through the night or pay them overtime. It’s all about their bottom dollar even if that means people die.

Centerpoint energy needs to continue working until power is restored throughout the city of Houston. If they need additional outside electrical workers they can be brought in to help with repairs.

As a Native Houstonian. I’m ashamed of my city! Houston has the largest medical center in the world. The alleged “energy capital of the world”. But there’s always power outages & overfilled hospitals.
