-- SF has an offer out to Aiyuk on a long-term deal for him to stay. He hasn't accepted.

This situation has been uncomfortable, contentious, still is

Inject some optimism: Aiyuk taking to IG and saying there are two options
Aiyuk’s preference - stay with the Niners and has always been his preference

Both teams have sent proposals the last few days, to a week

The 49ers have INCREASED their offer
They have agreed on a lot of the main points of the deal
Their offers are in line
BUT there’s one thing to be ironed out
If that gets ironed out, he re-sign and drops the trade request

Aiyuk;s standpoint - Ball is in the 49ers court and he’s hoping the deal gets done

Antonio Brown - Aiyuk told me he wants to be a Steeler and won’t accept an offer

That doesn’t add up and here’s why…

- If the 49ers didn’t want to re-sign Brandon Aiyuk and Brandon Aiyuk didn’t want to be a 49er, he would have been traded by now
- The fact that this is still going, shows, both sides want to continue their partnership
- But there’s money, pride and millions at stake and both sides want to WIN the negotiation
- And if the 49ers can’t win the negotiation, they don’t up their offer, Aiyuk no longer wants to play with San Francisco…
- The 49ers NEED to be sure they WIN the trade because this would be a disaster for the organization
- Lose a player you scouted, drafted, developed, turned into an All-Pro that is the point of the NFL Draft
