Goedemorgen, middag of avond!

Jan, Sacha and Stef nice to e-meet you! Great to learn you found this video which is a stap in our aim to set sail in 2024 on our Koopmans aluminum 36 foot Sailboat Wind Rose.

The plan has been conceived in 2006 and we have been working towards it ever since. With the purchase of Wind Rose, our go anywhere center board aluminum sailboat, we committed to our departure.

We don't know the destination(s), the duration or the route yet but we do know we want to make the change and explore the world. At least for a year but who knows what happens.

Why 2024 you might wonder. Something with school and the hope Stef will join us at least parts of the trip. Also, we have to improve our sailing skills, our comfort level doing so and do some upgrades to Wind Rose anyway. Which basically means we started our sailing adventure already. It’s just part time iso full time ;).

Here on YouTube we take you along in our preparation with regular updates. Because we learn from it but also to show you that you can actually alter course if you put your mind to it.

This episode is about small upgrades to our boat. Even if you buy a boat that is "perfect" there are always small boat upgrades that can be made. Swapping out the VHF and AIS, mounting a new nav light and connecting cables through the hull a cable clams.

And just when you think you are ready, a new unexpected projects pops up which guarantees quite some more video's for you'all.

Love to hear your comments!

You don’t need it in the mast, but better to do. Big vessels can see you better when your sealing on sea and you have a backup. Don’t forget you need anchor light as well.
