Just got to check if the stereo turns off once the key is pulled out. Otherwise you will kill ur battery in 3 days. In my 2009 VW golf 5 variant i needed to disconnect 2 wires which had a clip im the middle. So the car knows when the key is out it turns the stereo off (i killed 1 battery from not doing or know that theres 2 wires that need to be disconnected)

The usb port for CarPlay is faulty as in doesn’t charge consistently keeps goin off n on rapidly? Have I fit it wrong or is it jus faulty

Then you have too turn it off . And restart
Better with the original.
