Our Most Memorable Live Music Moments & Concert Etiquette

Should you ever stand in a concert or stay seated to not disturb the people behind you? Should you bother having conversations at a show that just result in you shouting in each other's ears? Should you tell your girlfriend you threw gum in her hair? These are just some of the concert-related debates that Rhett & Link tackle in this week's episode. They discuss their most unforgettable experiences watching music live, like a woman saying inappropriate things about John Mayer, Rhett and his dad slow dancing with some drunk middle-aged women, Link's friend getting crushed in a crowd of people, bugging Merle Haggard on his tour bus after a show, and much more. They also discuss getting used to the idea of attending concerts nowadays in the first place.

The fact that Link saw both Foo Fighters AND Incubus in 1997 🤯

Aw Rhett being so conscious and aware of his height at a concert is so thoughtful. As a very short person I can tell you I'd really appreciate him not standing lol! I enjoy getting up and dancing but it's a group experience - that means considering those around you and how much they can and want to stand. You wanna stand all concert regardless of those around you, you get floor/pitch tix or go to an outdoor fully unseated concert. 🤷‍♀️

Watching you guys settle in to your current personalities has been enthralling over the years. Link in particular has really revealed his inner self lately. In my mind, years ago, Link was a little cocky, a bit competitive, and seemed set in his ways, but after this and the 'are we competitive' EB episode, I see that link not only has a very good heart and is a people pleaser, he also has the ability to adapt and use criticism to his advantage. My favorite golden hearted Link moment was during a dart game and he said 'fine, I know when to pick my moments'. Way to stay true to yourself AND your fans/friends. We love you even more with each passing year Linky. ❤ from TN

Omg I’m 5’3 and every standing concert I’ve ever gone to I swear a dude 6ft or more stands right in front of me. So thanks to Rhett for being conscious of that lol

I would think most people who love concerts still prefer studio cuts of albums, however actually being at a live show is just special

Concerts have been a massive part of my life, especially ever since I could drive to them myself. I go to roughly 20 a year (excluding 2020-2021 of course.) They are the one true place I feel like I'm escaping the troubles of the world/life for a night.

Seats should be checkerboard or offset(?) So that your sight is between 2 people not directly behind 1

My concert experiences are very different. I’ve never left a good show without being drenched in sweat, with no voice and ringing ears.

This conversation about standing up at a concert is painful to listen to haha. I’ve never even been to a concert where people are not standing. I can’t believe someone would even consider asking someone to sit down at a concert

I could listen to the podcast on mondays but I enjoy watching ear biscuits more.

Link has told the gum story so many times now and it's always refreshing to hear again. It's also funny watching Rhett act surprised while asking the same questions each time xD.

My cousin is 6'7" when we go to concerts he tries to get an aisle seat. So if he stands he can step into the walkway so he doesn't block people behind him. I'm in a wheelchair. So I am normally in the aisle. So he gets the seat behind me. It works.

I love shows much! Live music is so therapeutic! My first concert was Hard Rock rock fest 1999 I was 14, and it was amazing!
This summer I'm looking forward to Breaking Benjamin/Seether and Korn/Evanescence
