Definitely worth it. Especially SWB vision. I recently bought one and the last owner put 350k on it. I drive it on a very tough offroad and do some overland. Absolutely amazing rig. Very capable.

I'd say go for one. But if you live in a country where these aren't popular, you're going to have a hard time finding parts when you need them. If that's your situation, you're better off with the Prado.

I've got the 4M41 in my Triton. Done 350 000km and haven't touched the engine. It's even still on the original CV's and it's been thrashed offroad, the left one started ticking a week ago. Only down side of Mitsubishi in South Africa is that parts are extremely expensive and the dealer network is quite shitty (But improving)

4m40 was 2.8L from 1994. 2000 the direct injection 4m41 was released. Then 2006 upgraded to commonrail. I have an NJ with a 4m41commonrail from a Triton swapped in. Engine has done over 350k and car over 500k.

I have had 1 15 years, answer, yes.
Best vehicle ever. What it can't do, don't. Watch idiots on YouTube destroy their 4wds instead.

4M40 its 2.8(with mechanic fuel pump), precessor to 4m41, which in beginning was with electronic fuel pump, and from 2006 its 4M41 with common rail. 4M41 its on Gen3 and yours on Gen4

the ford ranger 3.2 is a terrible engine imo. Often having rebuilds in my old mans garage well under 100k.

I'm one of the "I use my 4x4 to go places I have to go" people, not a "I try to go places to see if my 4x4 can get there" people. A word on lockers, from my perspective. The more capable your vehicle is offroad, the less stress you have to put it through to traverse an obstacle. Pay for a rear locker, and lock the rear and walk through or drop the clutch and fang it.
See what costs you more year to year.

We drive a pajero with a 3.5 L V6 petrol with about 215 HP ( about 330 NM) and yeah it has a big drinking problem 😅. We average about 15 litres per 100 km on a good day and im not even gonna talk about flooring the throttle 😂. If you do floor it you’ll maybe gat about 20-25 litres which is insane considering the fact that it does not make a lot of power. So if you want to buy a pajero and drive alot do not go with the 3.5. But if you dont care the 3.5 just sounds absolutely amazing and if you want 40 HP more you can go with the 3.8 L which will accelerate a little faster.

We've had a few of these (4 cars gen 2 to gen 4), they are super tough and reliable. Used them to tour and as daily drives. Even driven a host of 4wd tracks in my gen 4 lwb. Over a million on our 4 different pajero's. Only failure thus far was a dual mass flywheel on an 03 manual. Our current gen 3 and gen 4 have just over 400k km and 300k km respectively. Oil every 10k km (15w40 like delo mgx), all new oem filters, ATF every 40-60k km, put diesel and drive. Rattles like a bucket of bolts over corrugated roads, but that's a drawback I live with even though I'd like a word with mitsu about that 😂

Yes, they are reliable. I have a 2008 NS LWB which has done 340, 000 and running well with all electrics still working. Keep rolling out videos with your SWB. 👍

Hi buddy I know these are great suv, I personally own 2013 LWB - 3.5 ltr petrol with 6G74 engine here in middle east, which is a very reliable engine and easy to work with, however if u don't mind I wanna highlight few drawbacks - as I bought my pajero when it was 5 yrs old and down the line I had to replace a lot parts specially the suspensions and bushings etc //also changed timing belt, water pump, just the regular maintenence it requires //however the build quality specially of its interior parts has annoyed me a lot, specifically the rattling dashboard which majority of the pajero gen 4 owners complain - kindly help us or make a video abt the dashboard if u facing the same situation, cheers mate 🙂👍🏽

Hi. I need to purchase a trailer/bike rack hitch (like the one you have installed on your Pajero), that can be installed on my 2007 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0L V6 ZR-S LONG. Any idea where I can purchase that and get it shipped to Canada? Mine is Japanese Import.

My brother has had a couple of these from new and uses them very hard on and off road as well as towing.
Basically hasn't put a spanner on either of them and the oil in diffs etc is always spotless when changed.
The only thing that I've heard can happen, and it happened to someone he knows, is that there is an oil/coolant heat exchange thingy on the side of the motor which can fail and lets oil into the coolant.
Not good.
Might be something to check into on higher mileage vehicles or it may just be on a certain model, I don't know.
Very underrated 4wd's for sure and the 4wd system itself is one of the best around imo.
Thanks for the video.
