My homeowners insurance is $10.000.00 this year I live in a single family home in Broward county, I have filed two claims in 15 years both were hurricane related but were denied. It does not matter to the insurance companies they will find a way to not pay you I had to pay out of pocket and I am on a fixed income.

Not just home insurance, , auto insurance is super high and not just that they are allowed by the government to raise prices anytime., you can’t buy a house you can’t pay rent, , only Floridians know.

I can tell you this I wasn’t aware of this homeowners insurance crap 💩 in Florida, my homeowners insurance in Michigan is $89.00 a month and that seems like a lot to me now. I just wouldn’t move there as planned unless homeless.

My policy in 2019 was $1400 in 2023 its going to be 3500. My own mortgage company called me to advise that i should shop around. Found a company called Kin and they got me insured for $2200.

Is the banks and mortgage lenders, not the insurance companies .

Banks have been increasing minimum requirement on home insurance because the Mortgage Back Securities Investors are demanding more hedge, homeowners eventually pay the price .
