Thanks for the updated version. I had been playing around with the Legacy difference of gausian filter, but couldn't get it to work like you did with the older version of Gimp. Seeing this has cleared up what I was doing wrong.
Oh, and if you like to set up presets in this version of Gimp, you can just click the little "+" by the preset drop down at the top of the tool pop-up and save your settings. I don't know if you knew that or not, but I thought I'd share in case it was helpful.

Excellent video thanks. Almost all the other Gimp videos that describe this process, the screen image isn't clear and sharp. The voices are often muffled and worse they seem to try and rush through it as quickly as possible making it almost useless as an instructional video. The only way is to turn on subtitles and continually backspace the video to try and pick out what they just selected. I will be viewing your other video's thanks again.
