Thanks for the guide!. The installing on DSM 7 is a bit different but still works. I installed this on my DS723+ (with RAM memory upgrade). However the CPU of the Synology NAS is just not strong enough for more than 2 (4K) camera's with object/motion detection turned on (which it is by default in Scrypted NVR). The CPU usage becomes 70-90.%.

Would it be more advantageous to run this Docker/Homebridge setup on a Raspberry Pi or on the Synology NAS? I have all this currently running on my Synology NAS and am wondering whether it makes sense to port this over to a Pi setup. One disadvantage of the Synology setup is that it runs a down level version of Docker. I am not sure when, if ever, that will get an update.

Great video, thanks. Following your instructions I've got the Scrypted container running on my DS418play, but when I try to access the web gui via port 10443, I get ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED. I also have HOOBS running and have no problem connecting to it (port 8085). Any idea why the connection to Scrypted fails?

Thanks for these videos, I have found many of them quite useful. Recently my Scrypted CPU usage has stayed >90% for some reason. I have tried to use on both Synology DS 220+ as well as Pi4. I previously had it running on the Pi4 and using about 50% usage for many months. I am utilizing 6 cameras in Scrypted. I have tried to toggle between OpenCV and Pam Diff for motion detection to see if either can utilize the CPU less, but I havent had luck (had luck in the past with Pam Diff over OpenCV). Is this something you have experienced? I have tried many uninstalls and restarts. Is it simply just waiting for an update or is there something I may be overlooking. Thanks for all your work.

Can I use container station to do it on my QNAP NAS ? Need some help with the docker managment: How do you install portainer and is watchtower another container performing the updates within portainer ? Isn't portainer able to do auto-updates on containers ? Thx Eddie !

I’m still getting a connection refusal when using port 10443.. tried 11080 as well. According to network stats on the application, it’s showing data incoming but not outgoing. could this be a router issue? Or did I miss a step

Hello again. I have installed homebridge, portainer, scrypted, and watchtower on my synology nas (running dsm 7). I cant seem to figure out how to install heimdall. There is no network option in advanced settings to configure local ports to container ports. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks Eddie, I am looking at setting one of these up to get rid of some of my cloud storage that I am currently paying for.
I have 2x Reolink Duo 2 cameras in order. No NVR though as it was out of stock. But I want to set them up with homekit anyway. So Scrypted looks to be the way to go. Do you think this would work well for Scrypted as well as a hub for Home Assistant and Homebridge?

I am not sure if something has changed since this video and now but my install of scyrpted looked different. I did not have the option of "use same network as docker host" which I think is the reason I cannot access the GUI in a browser using the port mentioned..
