If the theory is true. The council is against having attachments. But I don’t think they’re against preserving a species strong with the force. So if it is canon, he probably did it to continue his species without much thought or care.

I personally don’t think the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order for hundreds of years would break the most important rule of the Jedi and have a romantic attachment to another council member. If he did then he would be a huge hypocrite and a fraud. But Disney will probably make it canon and ruin him like they ruined so many other major characters.

This is one of those times the real world timeline and the Star Wars timeline differ. When Empire Strikes Back came out Grogru wasn’t even a blemish on the horizon of the creators.
