They’re all solid cards that seem like they’ll retain much of their present value, at least for a few more weeks. Wouldn’t be surprised to see some surprises in the top 10 most valuable once everyone has had a chance to play the set and discover the broken interactions.

Karn is definitely not the only "no ultimate" planeswalker, just look at all the Gideons.
Sure, I wish they wouldn't exist too, but they're still there.

The seed cards in this set point heavily to artefact matters as a future set. If that is true then Karn will actually go up. Probably a year away mind.

One main reason for his price is that if you look at previous dominant colorless cards Hangarback Walker, Walking Ballista, Smugglers Copter and Aetherworks marvel. All of these cards were colorless powerhouses in standard. and all but marvel quickly cracked 15. This is a 4 mana colorless walker that goes to 6 loyalty and draws a card every single turn.

It will be played alot in many decks. even solely as a card advantage engine ala Outpost Seige, Arguels bloodfast. But its colorless

the funny thing is Chandra, Bold Pyromancer is the planeswalker deck card so i dont see it staying at 12 dollars. Also i dont see some of the others on this list retaning the value they are at now.

If the format is slow enough, I could see Karn being really good. He's a consistent source of card advantage, and might well be lower on opponents' priority list than other threats, since he doesn't end the game himself.

These preorder prices as per usual are not proportionate to how they'll settle at all. It does make me happy that most the cards I want aren't on this list.

Belzenlock + Whip of Erebos = Free card advantage.

Run GB with cards like Utopia Sprawl, Arbor Elf, and Birds to ramp to the necessary mana. Include Phyrexian Obliterator and Garruks/Big lilianas to make your deck loaded with high CMC cards.

Outside of using Myojin of Life's web, I do not know of a Modern Legal card to immediately put out all of the big cards you have gained (Hypergenesis would have been great, if it was not banned).

You misread torgaar, although the mistake is understandable considering the last 2 words on his card are redundant. You can gain life with him during a later part of the game when both you and your opponent are beneath half of your *starting* life total.
