My allergy was always a mild, but when i get some cat salvia on my skin either from them poking their lil noses at me or licking, it gets instantly itchy and irritated. Thankfully my body decided to spare me and adapted to my kitty. So if he licks me or pokes me I have no reaction.

Can attest that the Purina Live Clear cat food works amazingly for my sister! She's been feeding it to her cat for the past 3 years and her cat allergies have significantly improved (however, they are never truly gone). We unfortunately had to take one of her cats off the food while his gut healed from surgery for 2 weeks and my sister's allergies flared right back up. So we could really tell from that inadvertent food trial that it had been helping her. I recommend people try it who are looking for some relief to their cat allergy symptoms. For the 3 week adjustment period, they do produce a spay mouse product for you to gently massage into the cats' haircoat to neutralize the allergens while you wait for their diet change to take effect.

I had developed asthma towards my cousins cat and it wasnt until years after i got my own kitten and was having allergic reactions for 3 months untill it suddenly disappeared. It’s crazy how the body works sometimes. I kept my hands clean and out of my face, made sure his fur fidnt get in my face and i slept with the window open enough for my face to get air at night. I wouldnt recommend this to someone whos severly allergic though. I wasnt allergic as a kid and had somehow gotten it later on in my older teen years. Ive never even reacted towards my cousins cat either after that

I’m a vet nurse, I have ten cats. The asthma clinic prof was adamant I had to quit my job and rehome my cats otherwise my next exacerbation would kill me. My asthma clinic nurse was lovely, she advised I stopped working away and to never go on holiday (I used to locum across mainland uk, and would be away from home for 2-4 weeks at a time.) When I would return home to work locally my asthma would flare up. My eosinophils were outrageously high, to quote the prof “I’ve never seen them so high in a patient before”.
About 9 months after only working locally, I was no longer actively allergic to cats. My eosinophils are normal, I didn’t need antihistamines any more. It’s been this way for about 6 years now. 🙂
My dad is similar, when he’d come round my house he’d end up with the common cat allergy symptoms, but after a couple years. He no longer gets allergic symptoms too and can sit with the cats on his lap.

My cat allergy was linked to oestrogen. I thought this was really weird but then I explained it to someone, she was similar when she was pregnant!
