If memory serves, MCU Hulk is Banner's latent healing factor mutation kicked into hyperdrive factor yes by gamma radiation. So it makes sense that going Hulk would instantly heal Banner's injuries.

As long as his brain isnt destroyed banner is immortal, but if his brain is destroyed then the hulk will stay the hulk forever i guess

Well. Whatever the details….that scene was funny because you thought, ”alright, this is it, Hulk is gonna kick some azz now!” Instead what we got was Bruce biffing it hard.

Knowing this, Banner should have approached Cull Obsidian. Hulk would have saved Banner from death.

The logic is inconsistent here. Hulk prevented Bruce from committing suicide by taking over his body before the bullet could do damage. The same thing happened when Hulk lands to earth from the helicarrier. The logic should be Hulk is strong/impervious to injury, Banner is susceptible. Banner should be dead, he doesnt have documented healing properties. If he did then why does his arm get permanently disabled from the snap with the Infinity stones. It really comes down to the fact that Taika Waititi wanted that gimmick in his film.
