2023 Chevrolet Corvette E Ray Hybrid Testing Alongside Z06

2023 Chevrolet Corvette E Ray Hybrid reportedly shares the 6.2-liter V8 from the standard version of the Corvette. An electric motor would allegedly turn the front axle, making this the first all-wheel 'Vette available from the factory.

It is expected to make near 650 horsepower when combining the gasoline and electric motors.

Nobody needs a sports car, they want one. The Z06 might me the model you want more but it might be wise to ask yourself a few questions;

1. Are you really going to track your Corvette? If yes, does a 2 second lap time make you money? If not, it's about driving experience vs performance.

2. With gas priced at a premium, does it make sense to pay twice as much for fuel per year driving a Z06?

3. How much of a risk taker are you? The flatplane crank Shelby Mustang engine had enough problems to discontinue producing it. Are you willing to roll the dice on GMs first production flatplane engine reving close to 9000 rpm?

4. Considering your income and how thus purchase will effect your retirement; does it make sense to spend ten(s) of thousands of dollars more for a Z06?

The hybrid exhaust sounds pretty similar to the Z06 😲 figured they'd put the electric motor on the stingray but even the test mule looks like a no z07 Z06

It’s not about the money to me. I’m buying what will be the most collectible corvette of ALL time!
Price is irrelevant when it’s going to be worth five times MSRP in 10 yrs. Just look at what is happening with the C7 ZR1 price. MSRP was $144ish. Now they are asking 250+. You have to remember the C9’s will be electric :(
This is the first of its kind and sadly the last great Z06

The “E-ray” isn’t going to look like the Z06… That is GM’s latest Camo. Same thing they’ve done with the ZR1 by using the Z06 body. This looks like old footage !???
