I'm sharing his reponse so that you have another data point when you make your decision regarding supplementation with Resveratrol. Usual service will resume tomorrow when I release a video on Glucosamine (reporting on Tweets isn't particularly exciting)

I am loving this public discussion. This is what science is all about—it is not about established “facts”, it is constantly evolving and we must be comfortable following the evidence. I am so glad your research and science communication is getting the attention it deserves.

The fact that you actually change your mind, and are still willing to change back given enough data is encouraging, and makes me really trust the information you give us. For that I hope you become even more successful.

Really disappointed with Sinclair's response. Showing one paper that's 15 years old is irresponsible, particularly when he has a large following. There also seems to be a conflict of interest with the fact that he sold his company that promotes resveratrol for $720, 000, 000.

It looks like Dr. Sinclair is in a tough spot. Most likely, he cannot answer purely as a scientist because he's involved in related business deals and under pressure from other stakeholders. That's unfortunate, and I hope he will find a way to reply honestly. If not, it will harm his reputation even more than admitting he was wrong.

Thank you Brad. So glad I subscribed for your channel. It's been very valuable and the fact that you change your mind when the facts change is very commendable. It might get harder the more "famous" you get (for some at least) but you are on a great path to keep that up 😊👍

I'm more and more suspicious about David Sinclair. He is heavily involved in many, many corporations, trying too make as much money as possible. He's offering easy solutions, and i'm not sure, if all that stuff works in humans. i really, really appreciate your work. i'm glad i didn't spend money on resveratrol and all that other stuff he promotes. i will always be looking at everything he says from all sides.

Dr Sinclair should either announce that, in effect, he is proved mistaken, or otherwise show us clearly why not. However, it is probable that to protect his 720 million USD, he does not dare, for legal reasons, to admit his mistake. In either case his position is getting untenable.

Brad, you are my NUMBER ONE SOURCE for information in your field. The way you break down the latest research, no one else does it in that way. It's hard sometimes to hear something I wanted so badly to be true turned out to be not so exciting after all. But thank God you're doing it.

Thank You for pursuing this Brad. It is time that this all gets cleared up. Dr SInclair is doing himself few favours not confronting this issue.

Dr. Stanfield, it is extremely commendable how you research and present your conclusions with transparency and despite it being in opposition to the most revered scientist in this field. It must not be an easy thing to do, but it seems to me that your views on this topic are the most intelligent of anyone who speaks about resveratrol publicly. Thank you for your courage and hard work! You are a beacon of light in an era and field littered with misinformation. I hope that Sinclair realizes that the best move to make when one realizes they are wrong is to admit their mistakes forthright.

Well I know he's busy, but surely he knows that response is inadequate.

Thank you for having a backbone and reaching out to him for a rational discussion. His response shows how much he has riding on this and he won't admit defeat. He's always come across as more business/marketing focused to me which I think has blinded him from his bias.

You called out his bullshit. You are a true gentleman. Respect to you

The question is… Why is Dr. Sinclair still pushing Resveratrol? Why can’t people adapt and change course as new information comes out? There’s just too much money and investment tied to it at this point. Also, It shouldn’t be viewed as a mistake because it was a worth while effort, but be transparent when the data doesn’t pan out.

Great video, as always Brad. This gives me more doubt about Sinclairs claims since he first resorted to his "horse poop" reply and now tries to slander you with missinformation claims.
The response he typically resort to is that resveratrol has to be mixed in fat in order to be absorbed by the body, else the studies where they didn't do that doesn't count. But then in some interviews he has claimed that olive oil is a way more powerful sirtuin activator than resveratrol. So the question i ask myself, why even bother with resvreatrol if that is true? olive oil is cheaper and more tasty :)

1:42 "it does not activate sirt1, it stresses the cell" If i understand this correctly, that low level stress is what leads to SIRT activation...care to elaborate there?

To the haters that have posted on this thread..Be advised that Sinclair has made a fortune off of promoting a product that he knows might not work..And worse could be harmful...This needs discussed as many of us have followed his advice to the letter.. Everyone only wants the truth.

"Lol I'm not confused"

Savage response. Sinclair seems to be trying to redeem whatever he can from his investment with shill and heresy. As if the supplement market isn't already littered with exaggerated claims and diluted ingredients.

Your Resveratrol video and why you stopped taking it was so epic, I knew there had to be a follow up conversation. Your research and analysis was fantastic.
