When I was growing up, we use to have commercials by "McGruff" that said "Crime doesn't pay" ... I guess we now have learned differently. I'm sure they weren't drunk when selling off what they stole.

Last time I looked that's a felony and all they got was a slap on the hand.

Morning Doug,

Sounds to me like the judge had bought some of the jewelry. That makes no sense, the amount of jewelry, the total cost of the jewelry and the judge felt sorry. It’s a gross error on the judges part.
Great update Doug.

Hopefully your family and you are safe with the hurricane coming to shore. Keep us posted on y’all safe.

The standards for crime = consequences are very diluted. No wonder why decency, civility, and ethics are rare in our society today. God help us all!

Speaking of narrow clearances… On an early sailing after the Port of Baltimore cruise reopening, there was still debris in the Federal Channel from the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.

The Vision of the Seas Quartermaster told me that the ship had less than three feet of clearance from bridge debris on either side. There was only one foot of clearance between the debris on the river bottom and the ship’s keel. He maintained a speed of no more than two knots through the channel.

Happy Monday Doug. Drying off some here in SW Florida. Thoughts and prayers to the top of the state and surroundings. Being drunk should not allow you to steal. I’m sure there is an explanation as to why the store was not “manned”. Staffing shortages come to mind maybe..make them bigger ya need more people working’em. Not rocket science. Have a safe and dry day!! ☀️
