Yes, this is what I do not like about pushing trends. For a person who does not know how to style. They will put all of them together and look a complete mess. Bad Styling makes my eyes hurt! I find keeping styling simple I'd always best!!

The first one was perfect for Gamines family and Soft Classics. Second one only looks good in Naturals family and Dramatics.

To me this looks great. I personally like this style and just because it's trendy, it doesn't mean it's not you. It's not like if someone dresses like you, they're not still copying someone. And as an added comment: this is something you would wear to the office/work and I would wear sandals like that at work. It not professional. People don't just wear clothes like this to seem, ,old money" or, ,modern". Many are doing it because it looks professional.
