Everyone’s in denial that those bags are worth thousands of dollars. They’re not.

Many many years ago when i was in China shopping with my family, one of the shops took us to the "back rooms" where they had counterfeits and the people there said they also worked for these luxury houses. Thats how they get the patterns and sometimes even the canvas/leather pieces and were ablebto source them to make the counterfeits. She told us that the craftsmanship is the same, only difference is not shipped to italy to be stamped. Which really goes to show the huge markup is really for that stamp and the experience. I feel like "luxury" now just means the illusion fantasy for the average people who are willing to pay even after yearly increases. "Luxury" just means they can market themselves better than the smaller businesses and charge 10x for it. Its so sad...

This is not new news. It’s been like that many decades ago. It is not just the luxury brands but all price ranges. Back in the 1970’s to 1990’s, NYC had a huge garment market. Immigrants were exploited. everyone turned a blind eye. No one cared for their well being. Yes it was sweatshop environment. My mother worked in a sweatshop in NY in the 1980’s. No AC, poor lighting, sometimes 7 days a week including holidays because workers were paid per piece not per hour or salaried. No healthcare, no meals provided. It was exploitation.

Ugh such shame with these luxury brands. How is this any different from those sweatshops making counterfeit. Absolutely ridiculous. Such a turn off in buying anything from these brands I’m sure they all do the same thing.

Thank you so much for making a video about this. We can't let this be normalized! How can these products still be considered luxury to consumers? All these absurd price increases and quality issues and THIS is the reality?

I wish they would expose the bag so that this really makes a mark in the public consciousness. Saying this as someone who was about to spend 6k on a Dior bag myself.

Loro Piana is also exploiting the farmers for their materials.

It’s good that these practises are now being monitored so unfair working conditions don’t stay acceptable. It makes me wonder about other brands too…I also feel silly for buying so many designer bags for this reason

Listen we KNOW when we buy luxury, we are paying a lot for the name. But it makes me mad that they are exploiting people for producing them. At that price point you can pay and treat your employees very well. That’s what I’m expecting when I pay that price tag. I hope they will keep investigating companies because I’m not giving my business to them if they do that. I refuse to buy Shein because we know they have to do that to keep their prices so low, but a luxury brand! Come on now! 😡

The Milan prosecutor's office is investigating the entire sector. Derivatives also discovered to produce Alviero Martini and Armani. When you read Made in Italy on the bags you think of ethical production, but instead everything is in the hands of the Chinese who enslave their compatriots. Given the negligible price paid by luxury brands, it is almost certain that they know how suppliers behave

Disgusting though unfortunately everyone will have a short term memory and in time go out and buy another LVMH/Dior handbag supporting these corrupt billion dollar companies. I feel terrible for the people who work in these conditions. As for me and my 2k plus dollars per bag, I am done with the brands under LVMH.

The only way to stop them is to stop buying from these brands. How is this luxury…this is shameful. I’ll be ashamed to be seen wearing them.

Thank you for putting together this information! Unfortunately, it’s very upsetting but not all that surprising. With rising prices and quality issues across fashion houses I feel like this is more common than we’d hope/expect 😢

This is old news but I am happy that now there is more noise about them and others and legally are being held accountable for horrid practices. Thank you for sharing to those who are not aware.

Thank you for sharing not just the fluffy side of luxury but the dark side too. We all need to become more conscious consumers so thanks for being the role model.

Remember that time Sezane was caught taking advantage (abusing the system) to get model shots with the older generation people in Mexico? Didn't pay them. Yeah, everyone already forgot about that too. And yet many love that brand so much and think that are so "good"/"ethical" and "slow fashion"

It's not just handbags and it's not just multi-billion dollar corporations.

I'm still glad you made the video but sadly I think it will be quickly
