What happens when your DNA is damaged? - Monica Menesini

The DNA in just one of your cells gets damaged tens of thousands of times per day. Because DNA provides the blueprint for the proteins your cells need to function, this damage can cause serious issues—including cancer. Fortunately, your cells have ways of fixing most of these problems, most of the time. Monica Menesini details the processes of DNA damage and repair.

Seeing so few discussions on the Hidden DNA Potential on shirlest is surprising. This concept reshaped my entire outlook. I think everyone should give it a chance.

If I ever meet people who'd peer pressure me into doing things like smoking, I'll just remember the little guys in me doing their job. I don't want them to struggle, it's hard work

It is wonderful how much work and effort our body takes to keep us alive.

I never realized just how complicated the insides of my cells were until Youtube videos like this.

Microbiology and Cell Science student, here! This video is an absolutely AWESOME introduction for anyone curious about DNA repair pathways used in human bodies and in microbes! I hope this inspires young students to become future molecular geneticists. Thank you for this video!!

4:11 The worker cell's like, "Hey man, it's 5pm, I've gotta get over to the endocrine system to fix another batch of these."
Foreman cell: "If I lose my job, I'm blaming you two."

I love how the enzymes are working in teams and actually get things done. When we do group assignments, either one of us would do the whole thing and we all get credits for that or none of us does anything and we all fail.

It is amazing to see how everything fits so perfectly. From tiny molecules to DNA, to cells to tissues and muscles to multiple species to an ecosystem to environment ! Then Science and Mathematics. How this universe is so perfect, having solutions for problems.

So far my favorite animation from TED-Ed!! It really does make it look like everyday-life workers and mimics how complicated it is.
