Why is he accepting 'donations' from private healthcare companies then?

He won’t have to as it’s already largely been privatised. It’s currently at a 2 tier system though - not fully privatised. As a family we’ve just had to fork out thousands on scans and had to sell our car to afford it. I’ve just lent my sister 500 quid for breast cancer scans that she would have had to wait 3 months for despite having breast cancer symptoms. There’s also the fact that Streeting, like most politicians, is probably lying. They don’t care if they lie or not. To them politics is just a game and empathy and compassion hold these people back from winning. Lying is nothing to them. The only frontline politician in recent memory with any integrity was Corbyn but look what they did to him. We need a very physical and robust revbolution to bring the UK back into the hands of the people.

Problem is we have been lied to so much we don't believe a word they say.

Wes Streeting: we need the private sector to help reform the NHS…Keir Starmer’s Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting accepted £15, 000 from a donor with huge interests in privatised health care. The Electoral Commission’s register of donations shows that Streeting reported the receipt in January 2022 of the donation from John Armitage, a hedge fund founder and manager who has given over £3 million to the Tories. SURE WES, SURE.

Believe this man at your peril. Private health companies are funding Labour and they are going to want a huge return on their investment.

Assurances that the NHS will always be free at the point of entry aren't enough. We need to protect the scope of the NHS too. It might remain free at the point of entry and tax payer funded, but no longer offer quality-of-life elective surgery. There are already certain procedures no longer done on the NHS. Electives are the first to be put on hold when the beds run out, and were over the pandemic. They don't need to privatise the NHS when they can shrink it and expand the existing private market.

Given that Labour have essentially adopted Tory policies it is no wonder people are sceptical. Even his reply about an "NHS free at the point of need" is a tory line that can be true even if it is no longer publically owned. Is Labour going to kick out all the private health business that have been winning NHS contracts to provide NHS services for a profit?

You can't exactly blame people for being worried when members of Labour are with one hand taking money from medical insurance lobbies, and with the other tweeting the NHS isn't going to be privatised. Then giving speeches saying labour would open up the NHS to more privatisation to bring down waiting lists... clear as mud..

It's about time that the UK get a government that will actually listen to their employers which are the voters

Labour says they don't want nhs privatised but I don't know if I believe it 😊

They have been doing this for years, so much has been sold off and contracted back. Catering, Instrument sterilising, and on and on. The record spend is to cover the increasing cost of private suppliers as they control their purchased monopoly.

Like all Tories I just don't believe him. Lying seems endemic and simple for them. Truth no longer applies especially in Government!

Of course not, he has donations from private healthcare companies.

Nonsense, he wants it privatised and will work towards this goal when he gets to power.

"I don't want to see it" sounds the same as "we made promises for nationalisation but the Tories broke the economy"...it simpler terms it sounds like a lie.
