Using a 2x8 is my absolute favorite first cut method for logs 3’ long and under. The board was fastened to the log with 3 1/8” long screws. Always make sure that your mill is set deeper than your screws so you don’t hit them with your chain!!
This log was cut with my @stihlusa MS 661 and @granberginternational G777 small log mill. This mill is, in my opinion, the best Granberg mill to use for the smaller diameter logs.
