Just when I was wondering how to upgrade my 7th gen intel laptop to W11, this video really is on the spot!

Windows is the new linux.
Linux used to be the OS that required a lot of tweaks and getting used to, command line, terminal, etc. But now, it seems that if you want to keep using windows, you have to fix broken updates, roll back updates, patches and workarounds to install the updated versions.
Linux is not for everyone, but neither is Windows.
No hate towards those who still want to use Window btw.

Here in the USA, many businesses still use Windows 10 as they have not yet upgraded to Windows 11.

I have to say i've never seen this way of doing it, and the fact you can do it as an upgrade rather than a fresh install which seems to be the most common way, is interesting. Very nice video as always & thanks for the info m8.

Thank you so much for this. Can't wait to try and see if it works. I just have to image my drive and then I will try it. You might have just saved me the expense of purchasing a new processor, motherboard and memory at the least. I'm crossing my finger that this will work for me. 😃

The thing is that many of us have pretty stable and good systems hardware wise that are a bit older. In my case I am working on a 7th gen Intel chip that is on a pretty fine gaming computer and it sure would be a shame to have to retire it, considering it is perfectly fine and reliable and awfully stable. Why fix what ain't broken.

The Rufus method works very well--especially with removing the Microsoft account requirement. I wonder why it's not recommended. (Not that Microsoft could condone it of course.)

Excellent video Brian good to know different ways. I must admit I'm still using Windows 7 with Kernal and had no troubles with Malware yet, also works well on alot of new and late programs 🤞

I have a Dell Optiplex 3050 that has secure boot and TPM 2.0 enable, it also has 16GB of DDR4 ram, a Samsung EVO Plus 250GB NVME for boot drive and a Samsung 1TB QVO SSD as storage, but because the processor is an Intel Core I5 7500 which is not supported by windows 11, I used rufus to installed windows 11 24H2 on my Dell with secure boot and TPM 2.0 enable and it works perfect, it also fully updates.

looks interesting thanks for the intel, one question comes to mind about future MS updates and or feature updates using this method will they work?

Do I need my partition as GPT before upgrading?
My HP laptop passes except for the processor and has a 1 TB M.2 SSD boot drive and 1TB HD (I believe it’s not SSD). The M.2 SSD after cloning for upgrading, shows as MBR for the partition.
Very nice instructional video for a ‘NEW’ method! Sure looks simpler!
