I don't know what is more unbelievable, the stars themselves or the people who figured all of this out.
I just recently started watching videos about stars and I'm 68 years old. I never knew how complex and fascinating these wonders of nature are.

28:36 As of mid March of 2025, we are still awaiting the explosion of the Blaze Star aka T CRB. The astronomy community predicted it to erupt in September of last year…But we only have a small sample size to predict it. It’s only been observed for the past two cycles of 80 years or so. The event usually is preceded by certain fluctuations in the luminosity and its following this pattern so far. The exact date of the Nova event is not an exact date though. I’m still looking forward to seeing it soon!

Neutron stars I find actually more interesting than black holes. Im not sure why, they’re just fascinating

I just submitted my UG thesis on Catalysmic Stars aka the Cannibal Star system, I got so excited when you mentioned themmm! These are some of the most annoyingly noise yet hugely rewarding stars to classify. The particular system I studied ended up being a U Geminorum or Dwarf Nova-Type Star (calling it a DN would be inaccurate as DN itself is just the explosion).

We initially thought it was just a Nova Like CV until I found some really long light curves and found that it has DN outbursts every 1.5-2yrs and even the outbursts themselves have a dual nature, one type makes it brighter by 3-3.5 mags and shorter ones 2-2.5mags (this is an approximate figure), however that outburst interval is based on very limited ASAS-SN data so please take it with a grain of salt! The rest, I'm sure of.

This is such a fun topic to study and gather knowledge about, I literally felt like I was wasting time during literature review but it was just me having SO MUCH fun doing 'study work' for the first time in my life.

Thanks for the video! I'm still at 25:22 mark so I've got a long way to gooo

I always love “shouldn’t exist” I think it should say “stars that look like they break current knowledge”

Fascinating compilation. This makes my brain hurt, but is fascinating nonetheless. My husband being physics minded can grasp the magnitude of what is being described.... apart from the nasty squiggles making up those equations. The first segment about vacuum stars, however, made both of us think WTF? The imagery was fantastic and very beautiful. Thank you for uploading. Pity we can't fix Hubble now, due to there being no shuttle.

Exotic stars made of vacuum?🤯 Mind. Blown. The idea of Gravastars as dark energy is wild! And Beetlejuice spinning that fast?! I'm betting on an optical illusion. Thanks for the thought-provoking video, ASTRA! Any more strange star theories?

It's mind blowing that ol Betelgeuse is so large that even though it's rotating that fast, it still takes 20 years. Got Dayum

I don’t believe it’s possible to enjoy a video of this kind more than I enjoyed this. Well done, sir!
