“Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.”

― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I'm starting to think there is no vocabulary to properly describe how vast the distances and scale is of our own galaxy, let alone outside of our galaxy. Brian does a pretty good job of conveying how mind boggling the time, distance, and scales really are.

It could be that planets with intelligent beings are very very rare. Even so rare that on average only 1 out of every 100 galaxies has a planet with intelligent beings, and given
the sheer size of the universe, and even if it is that rare to have a planet of intelligent beings, there would still be Billions of planets that have intelligent beings scattered across the universe. If this is the case, the closest planet from us with intelligent beings could be millions upon millions of light years away from us. So unless we or they can travel millions upon millions of light years, we would never know they existed.

I've always said the universe is infinite. It never began and will.never end. The universe extends on in every direction for eternity. Not very hard to imagine or picture.

The void is truly endless, populated by entire universes that will never know of each other. It’s easy to imagine, think if everything we know, then imagine that inside a single atom of a larger universe, then repeat for every atom of that universe and repeat again

Every sentient race sends out the signal "we are here". We are so distant from each other theres zero chance of being "assimilated" or invaded or whatever. What we need to search for os the signals that contain information, technology. And thats also what we should be giving back.

its not impossible to visualize if you are able to let go of the previous image or vision to make room for the next one. Trying to retain all of it at once is where you fail.

It's really not that hard to imagine ❤

No it is not impossible to visualize the entire universe because this is just one universe in an infinite spiral of universes

I am wondering about the intelligence of life down here, considering so many people believe in Cox Brains lectures ?

Someone said that God said that there are billions of galaxies, but they're not formed yet, so-to-speak.
Seems plausible.
