In this video Heimler walks you through another required Supreme Court case for the AP Government curriculum, namely, Baker v. Carr. This case was argued on the basis of the 14th amendment's equal protection clause. More than that, it established that the Supreme Court CAN rule on questions of legislative redistricting, or, in other words, questions of redistricting are indeed justiciable.

Additionally, Baker v. Carr laid the foundation for the one person, one vote principle, which was further established in later cases.

Tennessee had not redistricted in over 60 years, rural areas had much larger power than the urban ones. Decision: Issues of reapportionment were justiciable under the 14th amendment Equal Protection clause. "One person one vote" doctrine. Why it matter??? Got supreme court involved with politics, fundamentally altered the political representation in the US.

Its funny logic because Each State has its own representation based on its membership in the Union.

Flawed logic to discount legislative districts and geography when apportioning.

One county in Nevada now has 74% of the representation in the legislature. The other 16 share 26% even though some are 500 miles away.

Thank you so much man. God bless you and to anyone reading Jesus loves you so much! You are precious and awesome, so don’t stress and don’t worry!
He offers to be your father and friend and Jesus died for it. Our wrongdoings separate us from God but bc God’s Son gave his perfect life, when you accept Him you will be forgiven. Search up Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, and John 3:16 from the Bible!
So go and don’t be anxious, you got this!
