Ingredients
Squid - 1 Kg
Coconut Oil - 1 1/2 Tbsp
Onion - 1 No. Finely Chopped
Shallots - 25 Nos Finely Chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 Tsp
Green Chilli - 1 No. Chopped
Tomato - 2 Nos Chopped
Salt - 1 Tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Chilli Powder - 2 Tsp
Cumin Powder - 1 Tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 Tsp
Pepper - 1/2 Tsp
Water - 1/4 Cup
Garam Masala - 1 Tsp
Curry Leaves
Chopped Coriander Leaves
Juice Of 1/2 Lemon
Method:
1. Remove the tentacles, heads, cartilage, fins and skin off the squids and wash the remaining part with water thoroughly.
2. Cut the tubes into small pieces and put them in a bowl.
3. Add turmeric powder, chili powder and salt to the bowl and mix everything well.
4. Take coconut oil in a pan, roast the onions in it for about a minute and then add the shallots.
5. Once they are golden brown in colour, add the ginger garlic paste.
6. Add green chilies, curry leaves, tomatoes and mix well.
7. To this mixture, add salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, pepper and mix well. Cook for a few seconds.
8. Add water and mix again. Add the marinated squid pieces and mix well.
9. After a min, add garam masala, mix and cook for 10 mins.
10. Add curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.
11. Mix well and turn off the stove.
12. Spicy Squid Masala is ready to be served!
