Love how positive & motivating Rachel is. Thanks to her and Dave we paid off $48, 000 of debt in 2 years (last payment was December 31, 2018) and the next 2 years we dedicated to our 8 month emergency fund. As of last week we finally topped it off and can now start investing in our future!!

2020 has taught me to be a lot less judgmental. To some of us $1k may not be much but to someone who only makes minimum wage or is a single parent with 2/3 kids, that can be a lot.

If it's a want and not a need, I always asked myself, how many hours do I have to work to buy this item?

I finally have $2k in my emergency savings! $1k didn’t seem like enough because we have two kids, own a home, cars, a dog. Things can get expensive so I wanted the extra money!

Really looking forward to hearing her edition of these steps. I, in general, really love talking about these 7 steps. So hearing another outlook of how to follow these set in stones steps is really exciting.

Hi, Rachel . I saw a video regarding your mom using coupons . I was inspired . Guess what ???? I just started couponing and it saves a lot of money.Combining Dave Ramsey's Baby steps with couponing is great .Hopefully i will be able to pay off my debt . Slowly but surely. I brew my own coffee and avoid eating out and put money into paying debt. Cut off all my credit cards. Thank you for your new book .Got it in the mail . Great way to start the new year.

It your breaker box is conveniently located (mine is in my kitchen), keep the breaker off unless you’re actually using appliances: my washer, dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, heat/AC, are off until I need them. If I’m going away for a couple days, even my hot water heater. Turning things off at the breaker eliminates the “trickle”, and saves me about $30/month.

Just wondering why the $1, 000 hasn't been adjusted for inflation. If it was advised 30 years ago then it either needs to increase today to make the same sense or just say "Save one month of expenses"

Shop around for insurance did that for home and car at same time and saved between both over a thousand on that alone.

Downsizing your home or moving to a place where utilities are cheaper helps as well. Will soon be saving $150 a month on my water bill!

That “Would I still want this if no one saw it?” rule has saved me so much money, especially with a pandemic! No one is going to see this new purse, new shoes, etc. and I have nowhere to use them, so I won’t buy them! There are things I still buy because I like them and they’re pretty and me and my husband will see them, like jewelry and comfy clothes to lounge in :)

My boyfriend had one...and then 2020 car problems hit and he had to spend all of it and his stimulus on car repairs. 😔
Now he’s conflicted on what to do because he’s supposed to pay off his debt this year, but he doesn’t have an emergency fund.

Term insurance. Oof. We had it as advised and it was just under $900 a month!!!! And when covid hit, we couldnt continue to pay it. That was a lot of money down the toilet.
