I just started couponing and it saves a lot of money.Combining Dave Ramsey's Baby steps with couponing is great .Hopefully i will be able to pay off my debt . Slowly but surely. It your breaker box is conveniently located (mine is in my kitchen), keep the breaker off unless you’re actually using appliances: my washer, dryer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, heat/AC, are off until I need them. If I’m going away for a couple days, even my hot water heater. Turning things off at the breaker eliminates the “trickle”, and saves me about $30/month.

Just wondering why the $1, 000 hasn't been adjusted for inflation. If it was advised 30 years ago then it either needs to increase today to make the same sense or just say "Save one month of expenses"

That “Would I still want this if no one saw it?” rule has saved me so much money, especially with a pandemic! No one is going to see this new purse, new shoes, etc. and I have nowhere to use them, so I won’t buy them! There are things I still buy because I like them and they’re pretty and me and my husband will see them, like jewelry and comfy clothes to lounge in :)
