I like the memory card feature because you don't have to bring your entire PS1 or PS2 system to your friend's house to continue your progress. All you need to do is bring your memory card, assuming they also have a PS1 or PS2 system and a game you want to continue playing.

Never understood people saying they always lost their memory cards. How? My memory cards always just stayed in the console! Unless I was to take it to a friend's house who also has a PS1 but that wasn't often.

You should play Gex! Gex 2 and 3 were my favorites on the PS1. Also, consider playing Monster Rancher. It had a feature where, to create monsters, you had to pull out the game disc and insert a music CD mid-game. As a kid, this blew my mind!

Back then you had a higher chance of buying a good game! Nowadays 65% of games are totally crappy, they LOOK better but that doesn't mean crap if games are like $70 and not 100% done AND filled with micro transactions!!
The only people to trust with great games are Nintendo and Japanese devs nowadays!😢😢😢

There was also the Dual Analog controller, which was officially released, but discontinued soon after, once succeeded by the Dual Shock. But I'd say more than half of the games were analog compatible since the Dual Shock (and Dual Analog) came out in 1997 and the PS1 received games till 2005, which is more than half its life with the PS1 hitting the US in 1995

all my ps4 games are from ps3 system, ps4 never even got games why would i need a ps5 cause it dont have games except the same games from 15 years in a row from ps3 to 4 to 5 wow might as well play ps3 cause its the last system with new games
