I turn 65 in January. I'm still working. I'm single and on covered california Obama care affordable health insurance. My employer does not offer health insurance. I am struggling to pay bills as it is. Had rotator cuff surgery a year ago and still paying my deductibles on a payment plan. I have kaiser health insurance and would like to stay with kaiser. What would you recommend I do? I guess I must enroll in Medicare at this time? Should I get supplemental plan? Or advantage plan? I need to do something right away, correct??

Thank you Marvin for this valuable information. So if I am to be "grandfathered" in after retirement with my companies medical, doees that mean at 67 medicare A and B come first and I pick up Plan D for RX; then do I still need Supplement G Medigap or will my "grandfathered" company pick up the gap and I should not purchase G?

My wife has been on Medicaid SSI for a lot of years when she became 65 she didn’t sign up for a supplement plan because she thought it was a scam One year later I had to do mine and I actually researched and I went with a supplement so I tried to get her to do a supplement and she tried to three different companies and they wouldn’t except her because she has pre-existing so my agent had me set her up for an advantage plan I don’t know if it’s the right thing to do. What do you think I only want to do what’s best for her?

You mentioned retired military, but I'm wondering how this affects veterans who are service connected and have full access to VA healthcare.

Where I’m from (zip code 96950),

- we only have one option for Part B; I was told it’s AARP/United-Health; and

- we don’t have an option to purchase a medigap plan.

If I move to another state, would I be able to sign on to a new Plan B without having to go through medical screening. Also, would I be able to purchase medigap without the medical screening?

Yes it is very confusing, Why am I not able to sign up for a plan for next year in another county. My doctors are in another county only 15-20 miles away. Is there anything I can do?
