The worst part about Rockstar is that her fans (not Blinks but mainly Lilies) try to implement meaning in the lyrics where there is not any. It's just for the rhyme scheme, there is not a particular meaning. I am a Blink and honestly, this is the worst song to have come out from the girls.

THANK YOU for talking about lisa's rockstar. I'm not going to sit here saying it was bad when it all just comes down to your own personal taste but the lyrics were... kind of awful. yes, you can argue that not all songs have to have lyrics or have some heroic meaning behind them, which is true, music is just another form of art. but some people DO value lyrics more than the actual beat or music, like my dad, and lyrics DO matter, not in all songs but they do. also, just because a song is centered around SOUNDING good doesn't make the lyrics any better. the only meaningful lyric in the song was 'lisa, can you teach me Japanese?' which COULD be talking about Asian stereotypes but I don't think that was confirmed, it could just be for rhyme scheme. and even if it was talking abt Asian stereotypes it doesn't excuse the rest of the song lyrics. they're all talking abt being a rockstar, being rich, in certain instances being pretty, and being the best. i'm not saying u can't write abt things like this, but if u look at her old songs like money and lalisa, the meaning hasn't changed at all, which I find interesting because money and lalisa weren't written by Lisa herself but rockstar was. like you stated, YG definitely hadn't left her entirely, they're bound together in some way. hopefully she tries something new but that's her choice. (P.S. NO HATE TO LISA! I have nothing against her and wish her the best in her solo career. this is just my opinion! feel free to disagree but don't force ur opinions onto me or be rude abt it. srry for the long paragraph)

3. I feel like the only one who does a bit too much is Ahyeon I find that the other members are putting the perfect amount of energy but with Ahyeon it just looks to much she dances and pops too hard which makes the overall performance look awkward and her highnote in Sheesh just is her screaming especially if you look at their fan meetings she is just blatantly screaming so I really hope she could improve more in controlling her energy

Omg thank you for talking about Rockstar. The song was really bad in my opinion considering many factors. Lisa can do better fs. The worst part is that blinks esp cannot take criticism at all when it comes to people stating their opinions or specifying how they can do better. I think after the whole lilies controversy too its pretty obvious that the group has no intentions to really work together anymore and are using the name for their solo purposes. However I wish the best for the group ig

Rosè is my only hope now 😢 i hope she takes her time with her album. she's a songwriter anyway so I'm not gonna worry about her too much ❤

Okay here we go:

1) I agree, and it KILLS me because their old music was so good. I remember watching the mv and being like "that's it?". I feel like Back 2 Luv should've been the title track, but even that isn't really up to par with their old stuff. Slay wasn't the best song ever but at least it kind of fit in with the rest of their discography. Zombie just feels so out of place. It sounds like a Pixy song, but a bit more empty ( No hate to the girls, they performed it really well).

2) I honestly kinda liked Rockstar, but it was still kind of underwhelming. My two main problems are the length of the song and the lyrics. It's a debut SINGLE and you can't even get it over 3 minutes. The lyrics make no real sense. The whole song feels like LALISA 2.0; it's catchy, but not amazing.

3) I agree SO MUCH with this. I understand that an idol "over-performing" can be distracting if the rest of the group has visibly less energy, but the entirety of BM have close to the same level of energy so it still feels cohesive. Besides, their job was to be entertaining and they did that, why are yall complaining?

4) I'm kind of split on this one. I do agree with the argument that in some cases some members just do better with certain lines so they should sing them. There have also been many cases where members have asked for less lines, so I feel like it's unfair for fans to go as far as they do by calling it "mistreatment". However, in some cases a member barely gets lines in any of their comebacks (I'm so sorry Bahiyyih 😭). I feel like it's a little unfair to those members since they tend to get pushed to the back. Long story short, if a member doesn't get a lot of lines once it's fine, but it's not fair if it happens almost every comeback.

5) I agree. Aespa is the definition of a group that instead of calling criticism "hate", they work to get better. There work is now paying off in their growth and they deserve it so much <3.

6) I agree with this a lot. fans are basically saying "this group is better at singing then my faves, so I'm going to cyberbully them for being good at their job 💀". I get that Fearnots and Lillys may think this is showing off, but I think Nmixx should be able to show off their hard work by singing live (no hate to Le sserafim or Illit).

7) I actually really liked the album, but I understand why some fans don't. I feel like it sounds different then their other releases (a bit more westernized sounding imo). It took me a few listens to get used to Work and I eventually did, but it still feels a bit less Ateez-like then their other songs.

1. I’m glad someone said it cus I felt like I was scared to say slay wasn’t as much as a banger as their previous stuff. Like that’s not my girls those are doppelgängers

2. HEAVY ON THIS but also imma add on to. Many blinks will support her Ofcourse but my concern is the fact she won’t be respected as a rapper and won’t get new fans on her own. It’s bad too cus I seen people compare her to ice spice which isn’t good but I understand why they say it. This song got that ice spice issue. It’s catchy and u can dance but it’s more of a TikTok moment than a song u play on repeat after a few months let alone years.

3. CLOCK IT. It reminded me about people complaining about Lily vocals from Nmixx saying she was doing too much 😭 same with jongho from ateez.

7. Someone had to say it. I LOVE ateez but this wasn’t giving, I’ll still dance to work cus it’s a fun song but it’s still not it

I'm not a blink but y'all expect too much from them . Lisa is not a rapper who writes her own lyrics so she can't really talk about her story but yeah she can work with better writers seeing as she is one of the top female idols in the industry and is now not under ygs control. But for me rockstar is 100 times better than money or lalisa her other solos so there's improvement just give her time to come up with substantial meaningful lyrics or work with writers who give her good lyrics.

I couldn't even finish Lisa's MV tbh. I think I watched 30s to 1m max.

And honestly the Babymonster and NMIXX take is so valid because so many artists be getting hate for doing their jobs because their faves are *under* performing

I personally loved Golden Hour. I like how different but reminiscent it feels to early Ateez but with a more experimental approach. I think many peoples perception of the album is coming from the promotion of it rather than the music itself because sonically it’s not very off from what Ateez has done previously, just with more experimental sounds.

I understand feeling like it’s underwhelming but I never expected this comeback to have the same energy and grandiose as Guerrilla or Bouncy. I think people had set a certain expectation in their head of how they felt it was supposed to be. I do feel like the promotion and build up lacked in giving the proper understanding of how this album would be like.

And it actually does connect back to their lore! They are currently back in World A where sounds, color, art, and emotion are not outlawed. Therefore we’re going to hear many diverse sounds that represents the diversity of life itself. Songs such as Work and Blind lean heavy into the hiphop/latin sound, while Shaboom is quite literally a mixture of sounds that people would never think to associate together. The Golden Hour trilogy will most likely consist of many different sounds combined and used as a way to express the many unique moments life has to offer, ie, their Golden Hours.

When an artist doesn't write their own lyrics they are only as good as their writer's, Lisa needs to do some investing because I agree the lyrics were horrible.

Just to finish those texts of mine...

I think Aespa (+Kiof) is getting recognized for doing something different from the other 4th-5th ggs, they didn't follow that y2k, cute, coquette vibe at all.

Aespa is what's keeping me on kpop rn
I got obssessed in their debut, but after next level I've lost interest on them.
But after better things I feel like they're just making masterpieces?

I saw MY world (Spicy's album) and I got like eh, alright. It didn't catch my attention. But this was way different with Drama (except for that mini album), Supernova, Bahama, Licorice or Armageddon. I'm really obssessed with their new album, and now with hot mess.

In this case, it's literally just my opinion, lol.

But their songs are different from one and other or from anyone in kpop.

THANK YOU AESPA FOR DOING THOSE SONGS, PLEASE DO MORE 😭😭

NO ONE'S STEPPING ON AESPA!!

7: It was fine. I like the other songs more than the title. I commented somewhere that the whole comeback feels like the calm before the storm.

If you go down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories it ties to a lot to Aespa's lore. Different dimension, alien and or spiritual warfare, spiritual superpowers and more. Makes me wonder who in SM believes in the conspiracy theories.

😮... Oh my gosh, thank you. I thought I was the only one who didn't like ROCKSTAR. Sorry to say girlie but I honestly thought it was a flop. But honestly love her but the song is TOO forgettable. To be FAIR, I didn't like it either girl.

I don’t understand what some of you find so unappealing about ateez newest album, i personally loved it, it deserves aoty in my opinion

Every song has a meaning even if not implicated in the song. I think that looking up at the meaning is important before judging the lyrics.

The only disappointment I have with Rockstar is that it’s mainly just objectless & really just naming stuff or encounters. If there was more of a streamlined idea and “story” I’d be into it more. The only reason I’m gagged forreal is because of the visuals, choreography, her filming in Thailand, & that smooth ass transition into sampling Same Ole Mistakes by Tame Impala later remade by Rihanna for 2017’s ANTI. It’s clear it’s for a quick little buzz & honestly a dancer based/tik tok audience.
