This video is intended to show the difference between a definite and indefinite integral. The definite and indefinite integral are two ways of taking an anti-derivative of a function but they have two different applications and have slightly different methods of solving them.

Dear Professor, I totally disagree with you on the difference between indefinite and definite integrals. The difference is not in the limitation or in the existence of C or in result (function or number). These are "external" factors. The essence is much deeper. What is the difference between multiplying and calculating the area of a rectangle? The first is one of many mathematical operations, the second is the method of finding a physical quantity. The first is the MEANS, the second is the METHOD. So, indefinite integral is another mathematical operation for converting a derivative to its primitive. But definite integral – one of the most powerful TOOLs in mathematics and, practically, in all sciences and knowledge areas

Very nice. Thanks! I would have liked a calculated example at the end of how an indefinite integral is used. If you see this and have one, can you link it?

I can do the are under the curve but when I struggle with is like the sum showing on 2:46 beside the equals sign, but the power rule I can do, the diffreination rules I can do the power rule Then make a fraction and put it in the denominator I can do and add or takeaway to the power in the power rule I can do I think I’m getting the hand of explicit and implicit differiation I’m familiar with the basics and calculus one and two rules but these two still confuse me.

2:00 so are you only looking at the are underneath the curve, what about the one over, or do you sum them up?? PLEASE RESPOND ASAP??
