Wow this guy is probably the most inspirational person I’ve ever heard of. He is truly the strongest man in the world, to be able to go through all of that when everybody said you wouldn’t and you did. But it’s also awesome that he had so many people around him to help and believed in him. I think we need a lot more people like that in today’s world.

I am so proud of Paul, he had the courage to stay alive even when that seems impossible, and he made some thing of himself in his condition, that is true strength.

He was beyond blessed as he still alive in the cylinder. He's an inspiration for everyone. Especially, to those people who lose of hope of what they've been through. Long live, Paul.

I was born in 1952. That could have been me. I just know I probably would not have had the strength or fortitude to go on like he did, What he did is an amazing accomplishment.

If I were him, I'd rather choose to end my life. But salute to this man, he is the bravest and strongest person in the world.

I watched a documentary about him last year. I’m glad to hear he’s still alive and litigating cases. 🙂

So sad😢, you are lucky for those who doesn't experience this kind of disease, yet mostly doesn't value their life.

That's polio. It was 40/70% chance of survival back then. Iron lungs made a difference.

Why would they give him a freaking B for something he’s physically unable to do???? Now they know they could’ve gave him a test on it or something he could HAVE done.

This brought back memories for me. In 1956 I caught Polio in Ireland and spent time in the Iron Lung. I was completely paralysed. Fortunately I recovered, got married and had two children, however, I am now experiencing Post Polio syndrome, but realise how fortunate I have been.
