I tried this and it definitely helped. I would say 2 layers of painters tape is the sweet spot. I did try adding the 3rd layer, and while it dampened the sound, it did feel mushy.

Be careful not to let the tape go too far up the stems of the keycaps
Can lead to it getting stuck when you push down

You know what also works really well. Using the non-drying modeling clay (not the Play-doh stuff) and dabbing some underneath the keyboard and it really deadens the sound by a lot. You don't need a lot either.

This also works by adding it to the inside on the bottom of a hallow sounding keyboard.

If you dont have electrical or painter tape just use like 2x the amount of taoe if you are using a thinner tape it works just as well

I put dynamat in mine. I've got ceramic keycaps and the space had a tink to it and the dampener turned it into a deep thud. deepest space ive ever heard. Sounds like youre tapping the table with your finger.

you could also apply jelly tape for a thicker version of it, btw nc content and mod!!

i dont know if i doing some thing wrong but it doesnt work for me, it basically just added resistance and did not dampen the noise so its just worse

Did this with hot glue and dam it sounds deep

I put blutack in my spacebar, it's a little messy but it sounds and feels way nicer now

But you have to do it just right so that the tape doesn't become a buffer. If it does, just cut it around the pegs until it's good.

i did 1 layer blutack and then one layer painters tape then another layer of blutack and it sounds way better. Also i have blutack under all my main keycaps

I used this but didn't feel any different.
I used play dough instead of tape and it was wayy thockier.. :)
