This is among the best movies I have ever seen. Flawless writing, acting and direction. Bruckner, Strathairn and Moncrieff deserved academy awards. Our society is incapable of recognizing and rewarding true works of art.

They filmed the Poetry contest scene in Dayton in a high school Catholic building, and my grandma and I was part of the audience when they filmed this. It was a cool experience taking part of a big movie. We were just a couple seats away from David in the second row, that one scene took about 10 takes, it was really cool to see how the director worked behind the cameras. My grandma has since passed but I'll always hold this movie dearly in my heart being with her in that scene. ❤

It would be nice if the trailer actually reflected the film. Meg was not a sweet girl being taken advantage of by an older teacher. In fact, I'd have to say that she was using Auster to be able to get away from her family situation. But when he "disappointed" her she went full boar on him. That final scene where she reads "Blue Car" is unfair as it wasn't up to Auster to fulfill her dreams. She stole from people and used people to get what she wanted. She wasn't an angel.
