I remember LOVING learning as a child, and also being bored by some things that we were being obliged to learn. I am wondering whether some of the addiction problem in our society is that search for the love of learning addiction that was beaten out of people through judgemental harshness. I study the brain also for my profession, and I would like to add that not only does the brain function under the basic drive to keep us away from pain, it also actively seeks what is pleasurable, enjoyable. 2 forces are at work, avoidance and attraction, and both are in function of being well in the world. The labeling of system 1 and 2 is very useful for describing the conscious and non-conscious. I am going to adopt this description in my work and everyday discussions. Panksepp was very aware of the opiode-dopamine cycle. Very throrough lecture.

15:16 🤣🤣🤣 No wonder! But all kidding aside, now that we have the possibility maybe we should look into the interplay beyween male hierarchies and competence. It is my intuition we women are ill equiped to really understand the dynamics. I mean, detransitioning males gave me this idea.
