President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administers the oath-taking of General Andres Centino as Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff in a simple ceremony at the Malacañan Palace on January 6, 2023.
His first tour of duty as AFP Chief of Staff from November 12, 2021 until August 8, 2022 saw the implementation of four (4) significant reforms – operational efficiency, optimal use of resources, advancement of professionalism and meritocracy within the organization, and capability development.
Prior to becoming AFP Chief of Staff in 2021, he served as Philippine Army (PA) Commander, AFP Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Army General Staff Secretary, among other positions.
General Centino is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 1988.
