The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that a 160-year-old state law that bans almost all abortions is still enforceable. The law makes it a felony for anyone who performs or helps a woman obtain an abortion. The decision adds Arizona to a growing list of states where abortion care is largely banned. NBC News' Laura Jarrett reports.

1864 - slavery was still legal, the civil war was still raging, women didnt have the right to vote (or any rights for that matter, oh and Arizona wasn't a state yet.

The advocate guy has that blank stare to his eyes, common to certain conservatives who don't include the human element in making policy laws.

They should change the child support while they're at it too. Start from the 2 weeks after conception.

The conservatives are going to learn about the law of unintended consequences.

The Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade is the gift that keeps on giving, and giving, and giving. And there is no off ramp for the Republicans.

The Arizona State Congress is responsible, Supreme Court of AZ doesn't legislate. Other states avoided this by codifying.

Why not just let the women vote in this? Why are men having an opinion?
The ladies will handle the lady issue.

It isn't about what the court wants but about what the legislature has decided. Im guessing the state leg has not re-legislated this so the court had to uphold the last law on the books. Unfortunately people are not educated in the roles of the branches.

This is just crazy. As a 27 year old healthcare worker, I’m concerned for the future of this country and I feel helpless - even with every vote I cast 😔

How come it’s always old women who aren’t having babies, that think they’re the ‘beacon on support and have to shed tears’

Can't we all come to a compromise here? I don't think going one way or the other is going to help anyone. Well, at the very least, it won't stop the fighting indefinitely.

Mandatory vasectomies is a very viable
In terms of the big picture:
1. Stops unchosen pregnancy
2. Stops mental and physical life long scars on female children from unchosen pregnancy.
3. Stops young men from being held accountable to 18 years of child support by an unchosen pregnancy.
4. Stops fathers from going to jail for failure to make support payments.
5. Removes the need for social programs.
Which, in my opinion will, over time, result in every single child being a chosen child and the return of the family unit with fathers in the home to raise their children and to give their sons a hands on role model.
you know, the government can give women's bodies back.
❤️✌️💋

These variations among the states regarding abortion will be muted when President Trump forces along with his MAGA cohort a federal abortion law covering the 50 states.
