I'm also Chinese and lived with my grandparents when I was a toddler as well. I think its their compromise for wanting grandchildren early but also letting their children build a career since its often hard to do both at the same time. Plus grandparents get to spend time with the grandkids.

Honestly in Chinese tradition for centuries parents have left or let toddlers stay with the grandparents till school age. It's always to take advantage of the young couple being in their most productive years to establish prosperity and stability for the family. It's also a reward for the grandparents to get to enjoy that special time, don't be so hard on your folks they did it for you❤
