For an American to understand what it feels like for a Russian/Ukranian to watch this video, imagine this was a war between America and Canada, and the soldiers in the video were speaking she same casual English and understand each other perfectly. Must be very sad for a group of people who are so similar yet find themselves in different countries to have to kill each other like this.

Artillery sounds haven’t changed much in a century. My Dad served on the battleship USS Mississippi in WW2 and was engaged in several sea battles, including the bombardment of Japanese positions on Okinawa. He hated the Fourth of July because he said fireworks sounded like heavy artillery. RIP Pop.

He wasn't a Wagner mercenary, he said he was brought to his position by a Wagner mercenary. I have seen a number of interviews and intercepted phone calls which tell of Russians soldiers, usually mobilized being lead to front line positions by Wagner, usually with a threat to kill the Russian soldiers if they run or retreat.

Every time I see one of these I cannot help but feel bad for the Russian soldier. Clearly they want not part of this, they are just desperate to stay alive. Much honor to Ukraine Forces for showing mercy. I pray all the soldiers on both sides may return to their families.

Forcing someone to surrender is a strange sentence. Surrendering is most often something you do because you are are about to die, so the force aspect is part of the word surrender. When someone "surrender" without force we usually call it a defection.
