Up to 21 schools could close within the Seattle Public School system as the district looks to shore up a large budget deficit.

The district released two options that would save $31.5 million and $25.5 million, respectively. It would help close an approximate $94 million budget gap spurred by decreasing student enrollment and less federal funding.

And, by this time next year they'll be screaming about overcrowding. 🤣

Audit the district… how have they mismanaged their budget this badly?

Bring some of that Lottery money back to the original intended areas like funding education. We have overcrowded and underfunded schools across western Washington and now Settle will have that same problem coming up after this school closure. Redirect funds back from the general slush/rainy day fund to help schools rather than more useless studies and other wasteful expenditures they aren’t required to answer for. Seattle schools deep audit.

How many school administrators does it take to say schools cost too much money? Maybe we should be more efficient and stop paying for social justice activists and activities. Focus on education?

Hmmm, so all that money from the 50% tax on Cannabis didn't help, eh? And that on top of Property Taxes?
How many administrators are going? Bureaucracy has gotten far too top heavy over the decades.
Maybe we should explore alternative ways of funding? Tap the General Fund? Don't you DARE hook the Taxpayers with another Stadium 🏟️ if you won't Fund Education.
