BTW - one additional use-case you might consider for CPQ is in the typical sales process requiring the sale of solution comprising of products as well as services. This implies a deal/opportunity would target a combination of product lines (physical products as well a service products) that are specific to the customer situation, and a Sales person uses pricebooks, product lines, product fulfillment schedules, revenue recognition schedules, and generate a quote. This is more common place in service and high companies these days where CPQ is used along with CRM systems like Salesforce. CPQ process simply enables more propensity of sale as it involves customer in the back-n-forth quote evaluation process and tangible pricing benefits.
