The Top 40 songs with extras from LA radio station KFWBโ€™s 1962 โ€œFabulous Fortyโ€ surveys for weeks ending Dec. 8, 15, 22 and 29. For that month, only the KFWB surveys were used for the ranking because KRLAโ€™s Dec. 21 and Dec. 28 surveys are unavailable while the KHJ Boss 30 survey was still 2+ years into the future.

Unlike for my books, Ranking the โ€˜60s and Ranking the โ€˜70s (with Bill Carroll), I used a simple reverse ranking system, assigning 1 point for No. 40, 2 points for No. 39, etc. I kept it simple since weโ€™re dealing with four weeks rather than a longer duration, like a year.

So far, Iโ€™ve not had to substitute covers for copy-protected songs for this video, but that could change anytime if Iโ€™m notified sooner or later to remove an original.

To the guy who uploads these wonderful videos, please upload hit singles, both L.A. and U.S., from the period 1950 to 1955, pre-Rock & Roll. It would be interesting to see how r&r creeped up the charts in that 5-year period. ๐Ÿ’ฟ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ“ป
