Hi, guys. So today's video is going to be a little bit different. I wanted to come on here because August is Hair Loss Awareness Month and I felt like this was a really good opportunity for me to really talk to you guys a little bit about my hair loss and my hair loss journey. So if you've been with me from the beginning, you've gotten little bits and pieces of my hair loss, why I wear wigs, but for the most part, I'm just the girl who you all know wears wigs and does stuff to wigs. But I really don't talk in-depth a lot about my hair loss and why I wear wigs. So I really want to just kind of talk to you guys about that.

Here are some of those resources I talked about:

Please leave any more resources and I'll be sure to leave a link here in the description.

Hi. I am hispanic & was born with beautiful hair. Had gorgeous long loose wavy hair. After having 3 children my nutrients were depleted. Over the years had a boatload of color treatments which added to damage. Now in my golden years suffering from various medical conditions and having to take a boatload of medicines daily, am suffering severe hair loss and opted for wigs and now LOVE it. Thanks for your support Jesse.

I was a former beauty pageant girl and my long, thick hair was my trademark. In March of 2022, I noticed my head going bald on one side. I was under a lot of stress at the time because I left an abusive relationship. My doctor told me I had alopecia and gave me an injection to see if my hair would grow back. It never did. I now wear wigs and have accepted my new change. It's been hard and I feel like a different person. But I know I am beautiful and that God had a purpose. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm going to create a video soon talking about my experience. ♥️

Jesse, I'm just starting my wig journey after being extremely ill and highly stressed for the past two years. I am so grateful to you for making the transition easier and sharing your story with us. After doing nails professionally for 26 years, I decided to go to nursing school at 46. I never worked so hard for anything in my life. I graduated in 2020, and have my dream job as a Registered Nurse caring for Veterans. In the past six months, I've had some major health and personal setbacks and my hair started falling out at an alarming rate. I was off work for several months but have been back since August 15th doing what I love, feeling better everyday, and rocking my little collection of wigs. They make me feel more confident and I feel I've regained much of the control over my personal appearance (my life) that I lost while I was lying in that hospital bed being told I would probably never work again and be dependent on others. Guess what... I work full time and I take care of Thank you for every pearl of wisdom you give to beginning wig-wearers. I don't know what I would've done without you. xoxo

You have inspired me to start wearing wigs. My hair is thin and grows so slow. My wigs give me so much confidence. I can have dream hair every day. Thank you ❤️

Jesse... i was diagnosed with Stage III Malignant Melanoma in November of 2021. Started chemo in December, got covid and pneumonia in January then my hair started falling out. I have always had long, thick hair so when I started loosing it I was devastated. My hairdresser of 20 years gave me a business card for CSC and I was addicted. I had her cut off my hair to make it shorter, hoping i wouldn't notice it falling out as much in the shower. But that didn't work. So i finally just shaved it. That day was the most empowering day i have had since my diagnoses. Thank you for all the videos and support you give us. You are a truly beautiful person inside and out....

Thank you! I’m 53, and I’ve been struggling with my hair for at least 25 years. I remember one day I was looking in the mirror, and I noticed my part was really wide. Like you, I have several combined reasons for my hair loss. I’ve used toppers, and keratin fibers, and styling tricks- but I was in a state of constant anxiety about it. Finally, I realized I was done. I decided I was going to buzz my hair off, and wear a wig. I decided to wait, until we returned from a trip to major dental work done. ( Sounds crazy, but it was necessary to travel.) I waited, because it very hot where we went- I didn’t want to burn my head. The day I got home, I buzzed all my hair off. Immediately, I felt an enormous sense of relief. I ordered a cheap human hair wig, fixed the color, and had my stylist cut it. I was still trying to hide my hair loss. But I finally realized, that for me, most of the anxiety came from hiding. I finally decided that this can be fun! I just need to “get in front” of it, so to speak. Own it. Rock different lengths and colors. I do know some judgmental people- but it doesn’t matter. That’s when I went to YouTube, and found you! Thank you so, so much!!

Thank you so much for sharing... I also had very fine thin hair as a child, it would not grow past the tops of my shoulders no matter what my mom or anyone did... It was almost always cut pixie style or short bob... As I got older I tried perms (70s and 80s chemicals!) it all but destroyed my hair... I had my first 2 children very young and my hair got even thinner... 25 years in the military in some very stressful situations etc... Fast forward... I bought my first wig just this last March at 58.. The front and top of my hair was so thin it embarrassed me... I only have 4 very inexpensive wigs (different hair types ). It took me a while to discover all of the videos about wigs (duh, I'm old school) but since I have I am having more fun with these... Yours are some of the best because you just tell it like it is and you explain things plainly but not as if we are 3 year olds.... Keep up the awesome work you are doing... I really appreciate all you do, !! Kim T

I am just starting this wig journey. When I was young, I could have had a natural afro. Couldn't party my hair and see my scalp. Now at age 54, I can't cover it up. I have used these hair fibers to cover it for a few years now. After my first bout of covid last year, that's not enough anymore. I want hair again. I am now studying all your videos and a few beginner wigs coming in. I am also starting to lose weight. I have to take over my life now for me. Thank you so much for these videos. You are a beautiful lady. Can't wait to shave my Hey, I am a surgery nurse anyway and wear hats every day at Don't need even a wig at work haha

I have started to lose my hair as of 4 years ago. It was devastating. Doctors don't know why, been to naturalpaths, changed diet and lifestyle, tried every product, serum, oil.... I also went through a couple surgeries and very stressful time but it's not getting better. I've started buying wigs to get my confidence back. I can't really hide it anymore and am ready to be happy again. So thankful there is a community out there. Thank you for sharing. Hopefully I look as glamorous as you do. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I have a similar experience. Extreme stress is what started my need for wigs. I have a unique position though. I'm a Jr. High teacher and I usually wear the same wig everyday for at least a full year. I do this to have continuity and not be the wig lady.

I’ve always wanted to wear wigs but did not give it a try until I was diagnosed with cancer. Thank you for sharing your story! Your videos have helped me so much, I really had no idea what I was doing so you really made the whole process a lot easier ❤️

Thank you Jesse! My journey started with combing and watching my mom’s hair fall out. We joked about her “molting”! But it was scary. My hair was always thin, fine, and straight. Thanks to medication and COVID, mine started “molting” too. I was going to make my own wigs, but realized my hair was falling out faster than I could grow it. So I started researching! Thank you for being a major source of my information!!! You answer my questions and have the answers before I know what to ask!!!

It took me about 7 years to grow my hair from a pixie cut to past my shoulders then it pretty much stopped growing longer. It still grew but not in length and I noticed wow I was “shedding allot” unless I wore my hair up my poor husband had hair in his food. I have always had thin fine hair but as I’ve aged it thinned even more. I’ve worn extensions but have a super sensitive scalp I wanted to wear wigs and tried but felt so uncomfortable then decided recently I’m wearing wigs because I am noticing thinning along my hairline and the right side of my head is very thin. Thank you for your videos and especially this one! It gives me confidence to continue doing this. Our hair is our crown and when we look good we feel good. It’s not vain or superficial hair is important to our self confidence. God made woman beautiful for a reason and we need to feel beautiful! Thank you again!

I had gastric bypass surgery 15 weeks ago and now my hair is falling out by the handfuls! I have always worn bangs and that’s exactly where it is thinning the worse and I love your channel! I have ordered a wig and should be here soon. I have been watching your videos to learn before I am rocking a wig. Thanks for all of your hacks! ❤️

You look beautiful no matter how you wear your hair. I'm not gonna lie, you look better with the short cut.

I did it! I got my first wig and it won't be the last. What a great feeling it is to look in the mirror and see myself kinda "restored". I'm 77 years old and have lost over 150 lbs after bypass surgery. I now have to push to get enough nutrition to maintain or increase my weight of109 lbs. What a lift I felt in my heart when I looked into that mirror and saw a " restored" me! This was the first time I came across your site how about that being right on time. I bought that wig Friday. Thanks for the encouraging words.
