Viola Davis told Anderson, "I took off my wig because I wanted to step into who I was. I felt like every time I put on a wig I was apologizing for being a dark-skinned woman with curly hair, like I was hiding it."

She's so much more stunning with her natural hair though. In that comparison pic, she's literally glowing

I love how she said that she still loves wigs and she will put one on every now and then but NOT because shes hiding her hair, or her authentic self but because she has that choice to do with her hair what she wants!

I think she looks great with her natural hair. If most African-American women embraced their natural hair, they would bring the Asian dominated black hair market to it's knees.

I tell my wife, when she wears wigs, they hide her beauty! My wife looks so pretty with her natural. Viola looks gorgeous!

When she showed up at the Oscars with her natural hair I thought she looked simply stunning. Beautiful. You step into yourself really well, Viola.

*“I stepped into who I was.”*

Exactly how I felt going back natural. So strange when I couldn’t even remember what it looked like before relaxing it. Now I can’t imagine myself with straight hair without feeling weird. I know it’s ‘just another style’, but I honestly can’t relate. I just feel more confident, more myself with my natural hair.

Look I'm an African American women who doesn't wear weaves. But I also respect those who do. I'm just gonna need my black queens to wear their beautiful hair natural more often .👸🏽❤️

She is a beautiful black woman with her tight curly afro. Well done to her for embracing the African part of her. As a black British woman I have never felt like wearing white women's hair (not that there is anything wrong with it). I appreciate that some people may just fancy a change but I have been raised to be proud of everything about my African ancestry and I make no apologies because no other race apologises for how they have been created. God bless everyone reading this regardless of your ethnicity. Jesus loves you intensely 🙏

Davis is acting powerhouse no one really should care about her hair.. Some wannabe actresses their whole existence is about how they look real actresses work with their craft..and Viola Davis is a pro.
